By Oliver on February 02, 2017. I used this item to upgrade the brakes on a 1946 Willys cj2a. The installation was really simple. I mounted the master cylinder to a 3" x 4" x1/4 thick plate.
The plate was then welded to the mount on the frame where the old master had been. I used the support that connected the brake pedal pivot to the old master cylinder by simply shortening it up and bending it 90° then bolting it to the new mount. The remote reservoirs were mounted on the firewall above the master cylinder. This unit came with 10lb residual valves for both front and rear brakes.
They are simple to remove before the brake lines are hooked up. My Jeep has discs in front and drums in the rear so I took both residual valves out because I already had a 10lb residual valve in the rear brake line, I installed a 2lb residual valve in the front brake line. The original Jeep pushrod works fine by simply grinding the knob off of the end, it is also adjustable. Works great to upgrade an old system.
